Tomrrow is Thanksgiving 2011. What will you be thankful for? Most importantly, what are you thankful for...all year long. Just like Christmas is the one day a year set aside to celebrate the birth of Christ and Easter is the one day a year to celebrate His death burrial and ressurection, Thanksgiving is the one day a year we set aside to look back at all the things we are thankful for. However, as Children of God, we should truely celebrate everything that God has given us all year long. Celebrate the birth of Jesus as it was the beginning of the hope of a personal relationship with God, for which we no longer needed a human mediator. Celebrate the death, burial and resurrection for the hope that it gave us; when Christ returns, if we accept His gift, we have the hope of eternal life with him in paradise. Just as Christians should celebrate Christmas and Easter everyday (and all Americans should celebrate our sodiers past and present everyday), we should also remember to thank God everyday of our lives. Everyday for the last month, I have been posting "Thanksgivings" on my Facebook page. Perhaps I should continue to post "thanksgivings" and blessings from God everyday through out the year? Maybe if Christians worldwide would take time to each day to thank God for His blessings on us, we would begin to see what He really does for us and maybe we would stop whinning about what we don't have. Just my thoughts in this season of Thanksgiving.

The Ridings Family Update

Well as we press on we learn new songs. The latest one that we are working on is off of Legacy Five's "Strong in the Strength" CD, "I Stand Redeemed". What a powerful song! This arraingement fetures Ashleigh and Timothy singing the verses and dad playing the piano.

Mom is now an official part ofthe group as well. She will be the one sitting in the back of the building making us all sound good as our sound tech. My prayer is that God will richly bless this ministry.

Practicing with the Kids

Hey, Hey!!! Well it looks like I finally got the video of me and the kids practicing. Since the song is over five minutes long I had to split it into two parts. At this point in time I could only put one up, I will try to put the other one up later. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as Timothy, Ashleigh and I had making it. This is the first time we really worked on three part harmony and used backup tracks. Ashleigh and Timothy are really coming along great. We still have a few pitch issues to deal with but all in all the kids have really progressed since this video was made about two months ago. These two videos we are singing the song Jerusalem by the Hoppers. They have become our family's favorite mixed group. Ashleigh is already picking up on some of Kim Hopper's mannerisms and Timothy just can't stand still. I'm gonna have to nail that boys feet to the ground. We debut in September at Trinity Baptist Church in Palmdale, Ca...our home church.
